About HZMAN
We have been making steel and leather jewellery since 2013. This page is the long version: who we are, what we make and how we describe it.
How we started
The people behind HZMAN started with one piece: a stainless steel cross on a wheat chain, cut for a friend who kept breaking silver. That order became a run, the run became a bench, and the bench turned into the catalogue you are reading. Thirteen years later the workshop still tests a piece by wearing it for a month before it goes into the range, which is the only reason a clasp that catches on a collar never makes it past the first week.
What we make
We list 562 pieces today, grouped into 332 designs, because we usually make one design in several lengths or colours. We sort them into nine departments: pendants and necklaces, chains, rings, bracelets, cuffs and bangles, earrings, arm guards, keychains, and a short bench of objects that are not jewellery at all. We price the range from $4.99 to $49.99 and update those figures on a schedule.
How we write a specification
Every specification on this site comes from the maker's own wording or from our own measurement, and the two are never mixed. Where the maker says waterproof or hypoallergenic, the page says who is speaking. Where we give a length in inches or a width in millimetres, that is the number the piece carries.
We publish what a piece will not do as readily as what it will. Leather does not like water. Plating wears at contact points. Steel rings cannot be resized. None of that stops people buying jewellery they love, and hiding it only produces returns.
Where you buy
HZMAN pieces are sold through our retail partner, and every buy button on this site opens the piece there in a new tab. Payment, delivery and returns all happen at checkout on their side, not here.
