Cuffs & Bangles

A cuff opens at the side and keeps its shape. A bangle is a closed circle you slide over the hand. The difference matters more than the look: a cuff can be eased a few millimetres to fit, a bangle either passes the knuckle of your thumb or it does not.

The cuffs here are steel or leather, and the steel ones are meant to be bent back gently, once, by hand. Bend a steel cuff open and closed every day and the metal remembers: it fatigues at the shoulder of the bend and eventually cracks. Set it once and leave it.
